She talked about her ex boyfriends without asking her to do

Postby Frizzzy » Sun Jun 06, 2010 3:38 pm

I met up a girl and we were talking a lot.

When I asked her about a big decision in her life, she answered, however she didn't answer the question in the way I expected. She didn't talk about the basic reason, but she mentioned about her ex boyfriend. I understand that she didn't feel anything about her boyfriend that time, but it's clear that her decision is not based only that reason.

An another example following about mentioning her another ex boyfriend. I asked how happened a particular situation, and she answered however she included her ex boyfriend into the answer.

She could have avoided to mention her ex boyfriends in both situations but she didn't do. I didn't ask her about her ex boyfriends. I don't understand why she included her ex boyfriends into our discussion despite the fact I was not interested in that.

She did a very implicit question about my ex girlfriends but I answered in the same way, very implicitly meaning didn't mention any concrete ex girlfriend situation.

It's a very open question, and I was wondering what's your opinions. Thanks.

My girlfriend has done that for a few years now until I made it clear to her that as a boyfriend I am uncomfortable talking and listening about EXs mine and hers. If it's a psychological thing, then I'd say that this girl you talked to is 1) insecure and 2) non-committal 3) abuse from family or significant other. I've seen and known about many girls who have had problems in their lives and even ones who had no problems in their pasts but still would jump from guy to guy to guy but not all of them express and talk about all of their past boyfriends.

I would think I am right if this girl mentioned any abuse she received from past boyfriends. I can relate to that. My girlfriend is insecure and seemingly non-committal. Hell, I don't think my girlfriend will ever stop talking about boys. I just call her my girlfriend because thats how she acts to me besides the #######4 that would make a typical guy dump her angrily.

Hi sanepsycho, thanks for your opinion. I've just realized I provided not enough information to make valuable psychological conclusion (I think).

When she talked about her ex boyfriends she was always very polite and very short. She didn't go into details, and when she realized I'm not interested she just dropped the topic.

I have an assumption regarding maybe she just wanted to introduce the topic by talking about her ex boyfriends before she implicitly asked me aboout my ex girlfriends. The girl at first meet up, even if she wants me something, she maybe not asking if I am in a relationship, does she?

If I were you I would just drink a red bull and when the bomb goes off go ask her out. That last line looks like the words of somebody intoxicated with alcohol so why not ask her out it should be easier when you aren't sober, right?
