try the histrionic personality forum.
everyone else, careful not to fan the flames, or help this person decompensate further..
Histrionics are attention seekers. they tend to voice problems, but never listen to solutions. they want to be liked and seen as all the positive type traits that we value in society, empathetic, compassionate, so on.
nb4c has stated not having any friends or boyfriends, etc. Histrionics tend to create drama, and people who are around them leave, because they end up being harmed. the drama creation is not intentionally to harm most of the time, simply to keep stimulating the attention need. the flooding of the forum with short posts, the ingoring of advice, its really too familiar to me.
histrionics also prefer an impressionistic style of speaking, and less detailed. So the confusion over whether it was something on NBC or MSNBC whatever, similar enough. unfortunately, in this confusion someone can voice their view of what they think, and the histrionic will, if this view point is a useful method for more attention, try to reinforce that view. this is in my own experience, combined with external sources of information on what histrionics do and what they desire so badly.
You'll notice as people have stopped paying attention, and lost interest in "helping" this person, she is becoming more frantic, the deluge of posts a good indication. They might also assume everyone who is friendly with them wants to help them. Their choice of audience (you or other people) depends on how much a person will believe in their stories. call them on it, and they'll "punish" you for not fitting their ideal.
the truth about who they are and why they exist in the first place is a sad story from the outside, and again, one only they can fix, which cant happen unless they decide to stop.. which is rare. the rare one that does stop is a much better person to be around though.
