This was actually a good advice... "You don't have to feel need to take the realtionship anywhere. It can simply be just communication."
And communication takes it somewhere eventually, either into a more meaningful relationship or not (if that makes any sense).
Yes, I thought it was great advice too! Just enjoy things for what they are - what will be, will be! No, he's never suggested meeting in real life. Casual is probably best just now!
I'm going have a shot at just using Twitter for half an hour a day - I'll set a timer so I know when my time's up! There's no way I want to go back to the level of addiction I had - spending 24/7 on social networks, getting heavily emotionally invested in the lives of strangers! If my usage starts getting out of control again (as I suspect it might!) I'll have to go cold turkey again. As my psychiatrist put it, some people just can't exercise moderation and have to avoid their "drugs of choice" (in my case, the Internet!) all together! I've messaged my friend to let him know. We shall see what happens!
Edit: I've just had a reply from him to my message on Twitter saying "Hi LDD! Will do!" I don't know whether to laugh or cry but I can say this - none of this was worth getting my knickers into a knot over! I'm saving my emotional energy for real-life friendships from now on!
