I am an retired army official and have led my battalion to several frontiers without the slightest of fear, now what disturbs me the most is due to my sleeping disorders the doctor recommended me to persist with the drug Lunesta and after initiating the same the term ‘fear’ which was an alien term for me has grasped me severely, and a feeling of anxiety accompanied with strange feelings seem to reign supreme in me. What has led to such a radical transformation?

Hi Alan,
I am sorry to here of the troubles you are currently experincing.
Did your anxiety start after or before you were taking the medication that your doctor prescribed? If it was after, then the anxiety could be a side effect of the medication.
As for your sleep problems, you may wish to find a thearpist as sleeping disorders often have an underlying problem to them. Also, if the drug you were prescribed isn't helping then I don't see why your doctor is telling you to presist with it. I would strongly reccomend that either try a differnt drug or try an alternative method of coping that dosn't involve medication at all.
Anyway,
Good Luck.

With due respect to your feelings I must suggest you the fear factor is essentially one of the triggered side effects of the drug with which you are addressing your sleep disorder and the strange feelings which you have illustrated are referred to as hallucinations, which accompanied by the feeling of anxiety are an integral part of the side effects induced by this drug. Please be assured once treatment is over you will regain your normalcy.
