Does this make me a pedophile?

I admire young boy singers and movie stars. Always feel it is wrong but never sure. I never have any urges or want to be with one. Just like their personality, acting, or singing. Feel shame because I think everyone knows that I admire them and I am not suppose to.

I don't think there's anything wrong here. Lots of people admire young people, and it doesn't sound like anything sexual is involved. I admire kids too, in a nonsexual manner, their energy, youthful playfulness, and let's face it, they can be adorable! I think this is totally harmless...Not even sure that it classifies as a paraphilia?

Yes but it seems different though. Like I like seeing pictures of boy singers and movie stars. I like coming of age films. Youtube as well but it is mainly singers off youtube and movie stars.

There is nothing wrong with liking to look at them either ?

I feel like society tells me it is wrong or frown upon.

You're not doing anything wrong by looking at photos/videos of a non sexual nature. I really wouldn't panick here. You know yourself best, better than any of us, but I really don't think you need to be concerned here. Society frowns upon a bunch of stuff, most of which makes no sense to me at all. That's why I just don't listen anymore.

Yeah. You have to remember though sometimes coming of age films have nudity but not in a sexual matter. That is not why I watch them though. I feel films should not have nudity unless it is necessary to the story. Not to just have it.

I am sure a lot goes on when this happens in a film. It is not clear cut and we never see behind the scenes when they are making the film.

Just feel uncomfortable sometimes when a young boy or a lot of kids are around me not because I am afraid of doing something bad but because of them finding out or knowing I admire them. Not just them but society in general.

No one has to know if you're not at a point where you can openly share it. It took me a while to get there. Now, I just don't care. If someone were to walk up to me and go, are you a necrophiliac? I'd just look them in the face and go, yep.

Took me forever to get there, but I'm content now.

How were you able to get there? Does your family accept you for who you are ? Do you have to tell people? This is my uphill battle.

If someone asked me I would most likely say yes I like boys but not in a sexual way.

I don't talk to my family anymore, so frankly, I don't care if they accept, for unrelated reasons.. At one point, I just had to say to myself, is necrophilia really as bad as everyone makes it out to be? Sure, it's disgusting to some, and there are sanitation conerns, but I'm talking about people who have already had their lives. I'm not hurting anyone but having necrophilic thoughts, or by looking at photos of corpses, am I?

My toughest battle was to get over the stigma, and the negativity society drilled into my head for years and years. I only started coming out last year. It takes time. It's not something I can help you do over night, but it all depends on you. You have to let go.

The stigma is what I am dealing with right now mainly from myself. Though one family member that had suspicions before that I liked boys. The problem I had with it is they never asked me what it was about. If they would have they would of known I don't like them in a sexual way at all so there is no reason to be worried.

I am very hard on myself about anything. Do you think we are born like this or it somehow develops over time ? Wish I knew for sure otherwise it drives me crazy.

I think most of it comes from nature rather than nurture. What I mean is this. We develop most of our thoughts/feelings/ideas from the world around us, from our environment, and the way we are raised. I don't think we are born knowing how to hate ourselves. The same society who is constantly telling us how to be plants these thoughts in our minds. This is why I refuse medication or therapy for my necrophilia, and tell you the trugh, I have no regrets, you could even say i'm proud of it. Otherwise I wouldn't be admitting it on a public forum. Some may say I'm strong, courageous, I just say I've had enough of it all.
