That's about as positive as we're going to get from a mainstream source at this point.

Their statistics are bunk, what with the unsourced allegation that half of us molest kids, and the asinine notion that child pornography is an industry ten times the size of the conventional porn industry. But they're trying to get through to people and get them to start actually thinking, which is a good start, so I'll be magnanimus.

I think you misread. The unsources allegation was that only half of molestors are pedophiles, that the other half are actually opportunists. They say many many times throughout the article that there's no way of knowing what percentage of pedophiles act on it, because there's no way of knowing how many pedophiles there are. They imply, however, that the VAST majority do not ever molest children.

Rereading, you are correct. I did misread that. Their unsourced claim is still wrong, claiming that 50% of child molesters are pedophiles rather than 10% like the FBI statistics say, but yep, that's what I get for not re-reading before I comment.

Having sexual attraction to children is not mutually exclusive with having "nurturing istinct" towards children.
I think most pedophiles have "nurturing istinct" towards children.
