Hayat Boumedienne (terrorist)

Another hybristophilia case.

I was watching the news yesterday and I saw this French terrorist, a woman called Hayat Boumedienne, who converted to Islam and is now a dangerous terrorist running away from police.

Needless to say that I hate terrorism and all, but the hybristophilic side of me feels attracted to this woman for being a terrorist and a danger to society.
I find her extremely attractive and part of the attraction comes from the fact that she is a criminal.

So here it is, another hybristophilic crush (the other one as some of you know is Natasha Cornett).

I don't feel guilty about it as I understand it's just hybristophilia....

I had never heard of this, before, but I clearly have hybristophilia, as well. I have found myself sexually attracted to rapists and people like that. I worry that it might be really bad (for me), but yeah, yours is really just like being attracted to a celebrity, I think.

Converts really do make the maddest fanatics. I'm not even sure there's a board on PsychForums that covers whatever it is that possesses a FEMALE to buy into such an extreme interpretation of Islam.

I think it probably makes her feel powerful. I bet she feels that she is the exception to what other women go through in Islam. And so she can be the one woman who can be like a man. I am not saying she is right (or that my guess is right), but I would be willing to bet that that is what is going through her mind.

While I'm not intreseted in the idea of converting to Islam at the moment, I DO know and believe that these idiots who use religion as justification for their violent and hateful acts against others are evil and should not be romanticized or admired in any way. They should burn in hell for what they do to adults and especially to children.

I understand what hybrystophilia is but in this case I'm not interested in discussing it in the usual manner because of how terrorist organizations feed off of feelings of admiration and romanticization in order to spread their violent influences to those with weaker minds. I feel strongly that iss what I'd be doing in the long run and I wont have that.

That is all I have to say.

Siamese Fever, I understand what you are saying, but groups like that also stand for the control of discussions. I don't think talking about hybrystophilia, or even ElKahn's feelings, is giving the groups any power.

So here is a question for you ElKahn. Do you think that if this woman (or any other violent criminal) regretted what they did, and made a whole hearted effort to change, and did so successfully.... do you think you would still be attracted to the changed person?

I don't think so. I'm attracted to the dark side of these women...if they become innocen and innocuous then it doesn't make sense anymore.....

El Khan, I must admit one of my worst fantasies ever, quite opposite to yours,
which I had after serial rapist and murderer Russell Williams from Canada was sent to jail. I thought
of writing him a few letters to win his trust. Then I would send him one in which I would totally
blast and humiliate him, including calling him his worst fear, which was that he is a pedophile. (He was willing to admit to anything but that.) Also, I would have told him his beloved cat died a painful death.

Since my motive was revenge and betrayal, nothing good, I never carried through in real life.

I think terrorism is more about power than ideology. I've heard ISIS members actually enjoy killing
and torturing people. A friend of mine is a pacifist. Fine in an ideal world. But what about a world in which there exists evil? How would you stop ISIS? By talking? By loving them? What if Hitler had had only pacifists to deal with?

I just want to clarify that in no way do I support terrorism or crime, in general.
Being a hybristophile doesn't mean supporting criminals.
