Minor-attracted person. I think the term is nonsensical, as it lumps paedophiles in with anyone attracted to individuals under the age of majority (which is what the term 'minor' usually refers to). In the case of heterosexual males, at least, I don't imagine there are many that do not have significant attraction to females in mid to late adolescence, so a considerable majority would probably qualify as MAPs. Besides, the term conflates attraction with legal terminology ('minor'); I don't see a good reason for this. It is, I would imagine, to chasten the notion of attraction to children and render it more palatable. Am I right in thinking that MAP is a term introduced by B4U-ACT?

Personally, having studied Nabokov extensively, I would not want to be associated with Humbert Humbert. As Nabokov said, HH was a vain and cruel wretch who manages to appear touching. He abuses Dolores Haze, and presents his account in fancy prose that seduces the superficial reader. He relishes the artistry of his account of the events in a manner that calls to mind Paul de Man's discussion of the pleasures of confession. Nabokov condemns him as an inferior artist incapable of transcending his solipsism. We need a proper role model.
