What helps you control your paraphilic symptoms?

Hey!

I wanted to make a thread where people can share their methods to control their symptoms so other people who have trouble with it can probably find new ways to prevent acting on their urges or alleviate their situation. I'll start:

Probably the biggest helping factor for me is studying a foreign language. I have been studying Japanese on and off for a few years and I noticed that I was always doing well when I was studying. I haven't really even had urges in months, maybe 2-3 times, and they weren't very strong. The fact that I study every day keeps my mind occupied. I recommend studying something to keep you busy.

The rest of my time I usually fill by reading news, browsing the internet, playing video games, watching videos and going to a mental health care unit where I meet other people. I satisfy my sexual urges by looking at legal pornography.

I also have plans to start therapy to help me control my urges even better although these things are progressing slowly. I have already talked to a psychiatrist about it but now we have to figure out where I can get the money for it.

I'm glad to hear you are having some progress, that is great.

I hope you find the money to get therapy :)
