I don't ever generally feel superior to anyone, adult or child, I try to make children do the right things and chastise them when they need it, I also try to be a friend when they need help or someone to talk to, try and guide them with some of my wisdom, even though it is generally met with typical teenage shrugs. But kids can be very smart and intelligent quite often for more so than adults can, they are generally happy and enjoy life.
So no I think I treat kids like an equal person most of the time.
Probably for me I like the childish attributes of being happy and having fun and enjoying life mainly because I had a hard time as a child in my mind at least (maybe no worse than others but because of my make up it was hard for me to deal with and I don't think I ever did.) and that is why I feel more on a level with children than adults usually.
