The Nekromantik, ever seen it?

German film from 1987.
I've only seen the first 15-odd minutes and it's fantastic.

You should see Nekromantik 2 as well. All of Jorg Buttgereit's films are very meaningful and interestingly made.

I watched the Cinema Snob review of it, I believe.
On my knees in a hundred dollar suit
Some think it holy, some just crazy
as the lightening provides glimpses of me
praying in the rain
Shipwrecked hearts start sailing
I wanna see my home again
Praying in the rain
See the ghosts start sailing
shipwrecked heart

There's nothing meaningful about it at all. It's just an exercise in gratuitous depravity, trying desperately to be one of those pretentious, arty-farty Euro-movies to give itself a mask of credibility that it just doesn't deserve.

There's nothing intellectual about being OTT disgusting for the sake of it. It's not artistic. It's the movie-making equivalent of scrawling obscenities on a toilet wall in the hope of shocking someone.

It's a detestable film. Really it is. And downright stupid.

I shouldn't have eaten Spaghetti O's at the time.

Made me a little nauseous.

I disagree with you on many levels, mainly it's status as "art". An abhorrence to the film isn't entirely unexpected but color me a bit disappointed.

Personally, I found it rather romantic.

I haven't seen Kissed or Nekromantik 2 but I will look them up.

If Nekromantik is your kind of thing, I doubt you'll enjoy Kissed very much.
