Hello,
I am currently in treatment for a panic disorder and I have to say that I have gotten much better. I had never had treatment before despite being thirty years old because I was never able to afford the doctors.
Anyway I had always been prone to night terrors, patrolling the house at night, and basically not leaving the house. Then in 2014 I started having what I thought were asthma attacks: I was afraid I was going to die. You see my mother has had asthma all her life. In actually it was full blown panic attacks. I would have them almost evenings, when anything new or exiting happened, and I also was terrified of having accidentally swallowed poison. Crazy!
The medications have made such a huge difference in my life. I was first given Xanax and it stopped panic attacks in their tracks. Of course Xanax is not something I wanted to be taking daily! I now take Lexapro, Buspar, and Praozin and have been for over eight months. What a change!
What has helped you?
For me the list is:
Medication
Proper Sleep
Lifestyle Changes (I now am more gentle with myself: I only work part-time)
