:D I AM VERY HAPPY i HAVE FOUND SOME ONE LIKE ME WITH A SON WHO HAS SIMILIAR PROBLEMS. I WISH I LIVED OVER THERE BECAUSE MAYBE I WOULD GET MORE HELP,MI MY SON IS ALSO AS BAD AS YOURS. MY SON HAS HELD KNIVES TO MY HEAD AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD I CAN NOT HIT HIM FOR THIS, AM I JUST SUPPOSE TO LET HIM DO THIS TILL MAYBE ONE DAY THE KNIFE IS GOING TO GO INTO MY HEAD OR SOME WHERE ELSE THAT IS GOING TO CAUSE MAJOR TROUBLE. MY SON ALSO HITS HIS 14YEAR OLD SISTER, CALLS HER HORRIBLE NAMES, PUTS HER DOWN IN FRONT OF ANY ONE, NO MATTER WHERE WE ARE HE DOES NOT CARE. I AM AT THE END OF MY TEATHER, I HAVE HOLES IN WALLS BROKEN FURNITURE AND ARTICLES THAT I HAVE BOUGHT THEM. HE SEE'S A PHYSIC EVRY 2 WEEKS AND THE PHYSICATRISTS WHEN NEEDED FOR HIS MEDICATION, BUT THIS DOSNT SEEM TO HELP HIM, SO I DON'T SEE WHY HE SHOULD KEEP TAKING IT, WE ALSO HAVE A FAMILY WORKER WHO COMES IN ONCE A WEEK BUT THIS DONT HELP EITHER. THIS IS MY FIRST TIME ON HERE SO I HOPE I HAVNT RAMBLED ON TO MUCH EITHER HOPE U GET HELP WITH YOUR SON SOON BYE FOR NOW

I am sorry to hear about everyone's misfortune with their children. I had a similiar problem with my son for two years. However, for him it was medication related. He was given Zoloff at the end of second grade due to situational depression. After about two months the behaviors began. The psych then gave him stratera and depakote to help him control his behavior. However, everything got worse. Dosages were increased and behavior began to increase. He could not sleep for days at the time; however, he would tell me that he was really tired and wanted to sleep. It was a two year nightmare and about $15,000 worth of damages done to my home. I needed to provide 24 hour supervision to him. Then I had the idea to take him of the meds since he did not display these behaviors before taking Zoloff. I cannot tell you how nice it is to have my son back again. Now, I just expereince normal 10 year old behaviors not the very extreme behaviors.

I AM ALL OF YOUR SONS

hey my name is luke im 15. i sound a lot like a lot of your kids. i have ODD, ADHD, conduct disorder and aspergers syndrome - a form of autism. but dont be worried about the autism unless he very rarely makes eye contact and speaks in a fairly monotonous voice. but back to the odd, adhd, conduct disorder - this will probably be hard to do but GET HIM ON RITALIN FAST. this is a quick fix but very worth it -- i am on it right now. also try alternative learning because a school yard is like a wall waiting to be vandalized and your child is a rainbow of different cans of spraypaint. stick in there though -- and yes i know i am a child and i could have no possible idea of knowing what it is like being a parent - but i do know what it is like pissing them off all my life. and i never responded well to being forced into things and usually felt the worst when my parents were ashamed of me or disappointed. some of these children sound like they have antisocial behaviour, signs include bed wetting, fire starting and cruelty to animals, if your child has a specific diagnosis TELL HIM and explain thoroughly, make sure he knows he is different - i never knew i was any different until my parents told me and then realized i was about 1 in 1,000,000 . try a counsellor, although he probably wont work he will send you to a psychologist who again might not work but will send you to a psychiatrist who will give you some magic pills that will help your kid when you are trying to explain whats with him. sorry for that but its true. try to get a psychoanalysis of your chiild to get a full description of what he needs or will benefit from. if you want someone to talk to i am glad to talk just email me machine.gun.funk@hotmail.com.. i may only be 16 but i am certainly not average i will listen i will be honest and i will not criticize you as a parent because if you are on this site you are obviously trying to help your son. i hope i have helped someone with this. peace

Gosh, all of the above stories have described my 12 yo daughter. Funny, I noticed all of the above are boys. I am at my wits end with her.

She has been diagnosed with ODD, bi-polar, and clinically depressed with some mood disorders. I have heard it all.
She is presently taking Resperdal and Trileptal. I really don't think it helps her at all.

I have her in counseling but she refuses to talk to them. They are telling me that they can't help her since she won't talk to them. She is so hateful, mean, and I don't think she has a feelings other than anger, etc. She has no friends, she runs them all off.

I just hope I can get to her before she ends up being a juvenile diliquent. She is definately headed that way.

I am at my wits end. I am checking into boot camps, behavioral modification places, and possibly alternative school.
