There's a line in a song by Suzanne Vega, that goes, "It's a one time thing, it just happens a lot."
That stuck in my mind, because it summed up all of the times that I would tell myself that this was the last time that I was going to (do or think something compulsively or repetitively.)
Eventually, I realised that that wasn't going to happen, but what did happen, with medication, and 'exposure therapy' sort of thinking, was that the symptoms died down - I'd rate myself as having been 8 out of 10 on an ocd scale at my worst, whereas now I'm probably around 3 out of 10.
Anyway, anyone else have any quotes or lines from songs, poems etc. that seem to capture what ocd is like?
