Hi,
When I self harm, I ALWAYS have to remove the scabs on cuts. It drives my friends nuts, they slap my hands for it, and even if I'm sat with them and know they hate me doing it, want to not do it -for them, If there is a scab I HAVE to pick it off. I get asked why, but I can't explain it. It's confusing. At first I thought maybe it was so that I could still allow the pain to leave my body. But now I think its more to do with it looking messy with a scab.
Does this sound like an OCD trate?
When we first started studying BPD, it was also suggested I may also have OCPD.

It does sound like a compulsion. Maybe it's part of your self harm "routine", since the scab is a reminder.
