Recently diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, previous diagnosis was schizophrenia.

The intrusive thoughts do sound like OCD. Some people have pedophile OCD or POCD in which they fear they may be a pedophile even though they're not sexually attracted to children. I've never had POCD but I can imagine just how disturbing those thoughts can be.
I've never installed an operating system, so you definitely know more than I do about that. Although I do like having the latest version of programs on my computer.
