Is this OCD?

Hey!

I am from a small country with small language so I dont find so many answers in my own native language (articles about OCD are often about the frequent cases like washing hands, thoughts oabout hurting a loved one etc).

I am quite sure that I suffer from OCD but I d like to hear if you think the same. After reading other discussions here I think my symptoms are not so bad but they are sometimes time consuming.

My "problem" is that I get stuck to thoughts and often paranoid/superstitious.

For example, I read a news article about a political/societal problem and I get stuck to thinking about it and I feel that if I don`t think this thoroughly and repeat the right solutions to this problem then the worst scenario will happen. For example I read about budget cuts on schools, then I think some people decide not to have babies because they think schools are not good anymore and then if I dont think this trough so I kinda kill those unborn babies. I kind of think that my thoughts affect the thoughts and behavior of those future parents. If I m interrupted when thinking about this, I get really bad feeling that I might have made situation even worse if I havent finished my thought and it s kinda hanging there and last part of the thought is worsening the situation because my solution for the problem at that stage was not ready or was really bad.

As a child I remember closing doors three times or touching something three times etc. That has stopped in adult age but these intrusive thoughts have come instead and sometimes it gets worse and sometimes I hardly have any symptoms.

My thoughts are almost always about society and political problems which I find strange. Does someone else have these kind of thoughts? And is this ocd or something else?
