U G H I had a trans scare and also questions?

Postby AlwaysThinking » Tue Feb 06, 2018 4:11 pm

Ok so since tuesday I've been dealing with a kidney stone right? I had this really bad pain in my left abdomen and since I went to the ER it's shifted to my back with little throbs of pain here and there. I've been trying to deal with it but recently to make matters worse I was watching a youtube video and suddenly I saw a guy mention this movie about transgender sex workers and it made me spiked because of how they appeared. I was worried because I didn't feel anxiety at all. The thoughts of being a woman weren't accompanied by anxiety what so ever, in fact, nothing I could think about regarding trans made me spike. Just now I realized something though, the pain in my back, could it be the pain is so discomforting that it mutes my anxiety and so the spikes I typically would have aren't there right now? Just thinking about this made me happy and yes that clearly doesn't make me trans but still, this all has me curious about whether my anxiety can't surface because of this physical pain. I mean, is that even possible?

I think even other mental health issues can lessen spikes (one being depression). If you’re worried about not spiking then you aren’t ######6 trans. You’re as cis as cis can be. I have trans OCD right now too, and I think my spikes are lessened because of my depression. I’m sure your back pain is the cause of it and even if it’s not I still don’t think you’re trans. Honestly trans people don’t come onto OCD forums questioning if they are trans, they usually worry they ARENT trans.

You ain’t trans you sexy birch.

Yeah, dealing with other mental health issues can take the impact off of it. When I am consumed by my binge eating then my thoughts focus on that, rather than the intrusions (not always)

Also, when my relationship with my boyfriend ended, I was so dsitraught by that that I didn't really think about my intrusions much for a week or so.

Yep ocd is bad but when something more important occupies your brain it can’t do anything, for example when a physical pain or another mental health issue arise ocd kinda stays silent for a while. It’s happens to me all the time with health ocd: when I’m worried about health matters my brain can’t scream at me making me doubt my gender identity
