OCD is a mental spammer

Postby Saigal » Tue Oct 04, 2016 8:43 am

If you receive an email from a spam source containing lewd pictures, disturbing videos, strange ideas, distressing personal questions, accusations and doubts, will you look at the pictures, play the videos, test the ideas, answer the questions, refute the accusations and entertain the doubts? Of course not. You will delete the email even without opening it. If the SAME content is generated by OCD in the mind, you waste valuable time and energy on it. The proper thing to do would be to discard the content from the mind without a thought. If it is hard to discard a thought mentally, discard it physically by writing it on a piece of paper, crumpling the paper and throwing it into a trash can.

TREAT OCD AS A MENTAL SPAMMER.

Saigal, with due respect, when you say OCD is a spammer is this some kind of meta ironic troll theater?

The last nineteen posts made on the OCD forum are all from you. About half of them are one sentence redirects to this post, irrespective of the original question being asked. The rest are almost entirely one sentence directives to read your posts; all of them. In the rare threads where you answer the question posed by original poster your advice is to, nearly without exception, 'just stop it'.

OCD is a spammer ... so if you can't beat em, join em?
Mere "anxiety," as Heidegger says, is at the source of everything.

"You're very clever, young man, very clever," said the old lady. "But it's turtles all the way down!"
