First I want to say that I'm diagnosed with OCD and told my therapist about these thoughts and she's sure that it's OCD and nothing else. I thought about working with children. I'd really like to do that but I'm worried I'll get intrusive thoughts around them or feel too uncomfortable and anxious. Deep down I know I won't harm anyone, I don't enjoy the intrusive thoughts and they upset me. I'm feeling better than some months ago and my intrusive thoughts happen less frequent and are less persistent but I know they won't be completely gone until I'd start working there. On one hand I want to avoid situations that make me anxious and/or uncomfortable but I don't want OCD to ruin the opportunities I have. Any opinions?
