Insight therapy doesn't really help with OCD. I'm not going to go into details of what it does for me now because that will only cause you to start checking for that too.

Yeah, you'd think I'd come to the conclusion because it's still bothering me and be okay with it but that hasn't happened yet. You don't want to know what it does to me really either.

Do you know if duration of time has anything to do with the legitimacy of it? Or like the speed with which it progresses(the reduced anxiety of thoughts, feeling gay etc.). Honestly im just looking for any new insight possible cause i keep reading the same things over and over again and they dont put me at ease as much as they used to, which also scares me.

Hey so about your question, I don't think that how fast you get symptoms is a sign of legitimacy or anything. One of the things with mental disorders that is very different from illnesses such as cancer is that everyone is completely different. In short there isn't a time limit that decides whether you have HOCD or not someone can start getting symptoms in a week or in 2 months but its still HOCD. I know you can't diagnose it here but it seems like you have pretty common symptoms. And don't worry I'm going through the same thing.
Hope this helps! :D

Thanks Ahay, I feel so stressed all the time. I've heard it is always different for everyone but my mind keeps telling me im the exception to the rule and im actually gay. My councilor tild me i was gonna look back on this and laugh and my OCD brain was like "yeah he means you're gonna wonder why you ever thought you were straight". Anxiety spikes ensue

I think part of me would die if that happened to me

Yep. I flipped on the way home after that happened. (Its not an OCD therapist) and the place deals with sexual health stuff in general.
