After 2 years, POCD is gone. I defeated it. In some weird way I am glad I had it. I understood now what ocd is and what it can do. I'm going to relax more and work out things in my life so I can manage my anxiety better. Thank you for all your support.

How long did that take you? And how much was it affecting you? As in, were you off porn for 2 years before things fully went away?

My POCD was tied to porn addiction. I used to watch porn all my life. One day I couldn't shake a thought that popped into my head, so I watched something for reassurance, and it backfired on me. It was the worse night of my life. My anxiety was through the roof for the longest time after that. I lost my job and I almost didn't graduate. It completely immobilized me.
What helped?
I'm slowly weaning off of porn. I have gone about two months without it, and its a world of a difference. Your brain chemistry begins healing, and then you start to see a difference. I feel better. POCD faded little by little. Like any addiction, you relapse. Addiction doesn't have a cure, but it is manageable. You have to keep trying.
