Hi all,
First of all, thanks to all concerned for providing me a platform to talk about my problems.
After suffering from mild to severe OCD almost throughout my life, I have deeply studied it and arrived at certain conclusions. They are described below.
1.) OCD occurs like a never ending loop with a self-sustaining feedback system. As for example, if your OCD thoughts tell you to do something, don’t do it at all, because if you do it, the OCD thoughts will just get stronger, and which, in turn will force you to do things in the future.
2.) The real strength against OCD is your own will power and when faced with OCD thoughts, just ignore it and if possible say a firm “NO” mentally or even verbally. Just say to your mind, from now on all your stupid instructions, conclusions and thoughts will be rejected and dishonoured outright, just like a bounced or failed check from a bank.
3.) Medicines may or may not help in OCD cases. But this policy of ignoring really helps. Basically, all you have to do is to break the never-ending and self-strengthening loop.
4.) The core subject matter central to the OCD thoughts can be anything. But, one of the most common thing which is almost definite to occur in connection to OCD thoughts rare worrying about dirt, causing harm to others and becoming a psycho. This almost always results in washing and cleaning unnecessarily and worrying about it and thereby causing other physical discomforts.
Please feel free to share your opinions about them. Thanks again.
