HOCD is a nightmare

Postby Britster » Mon Sep 21, 2015 12:01 pm

I'm so scared. For the past three months I've been struggling with what I hope is HOCD. I try to remind myself that a gay or bisexual person wouldn't go through such torment but it's not helping. I can't stop having panic attacks and the groinal responses are out of control. It's especially frightening because I'm getting married to the love of my life in 8 months. I'm just so.scared and I feel so alone. I don't want to be with women (I'm female) and until this all started my orientation was absolutely a non issue.

The anxiety that many people who are discovering they are gay usually comes from opening up to others, friend and family, who may not understand.

They don't generally go through torment, hoping they are not gay.

Groin responses can occur to anyone, at anytime - they are not an indication of anything. Anxiety will cause all sorts of problems with the body.

If you haven't seen anyone, maybe now is the time. Don't let the pain go on.

I don't think anyone here could be of help interpreting what that means in your case. Maybe describe what you are scared about?

As jdd said, maybe you could describe in better detail what you mean?

I'm not sure how my post could scare you, as it is meant to show you that most gay people ARE NOT scared in the way you are scared. Therefore if you're just scared or having anxiety, you are most likely NOT gay.

I was just confirming what you said, when you said

that a gay or bisexual person wouldn't go through such torment

I just put more detail to the same notion.
