Hi all,
So, when I first started having violent intrusive thoughts, they were at times where I was happy. I could be having a good conversation with a friend, laughing, then all the sudden would get the thought to throw hot tea in her face. Now though, they come at times when I'm annoyed or stressed.
My manager is a tyrant. He's just not a nice guy, and when he gives me a hard time, the intrusive thought comes. I don't experience anger or pleasure from the thought I want to add. It sucks. I also don't have a great relationship with my mother and the intrusive thoughts are mostly about her.
Is it normal for intrusive thoughts to not come at those times or about people you don't get along with?

The book "Imp Of The Mind" describes the thoughts as being the most inappropriate thought at the most inappropriate time. So, yes, I believe your thoughts are normal for someone with OCD.
Have you been diagnosed as OCD?
