What are your experiences with hospitals?

I am going into the hospital this week for a formal evaluation and to get my medication straightened out. This place is supposedly one of the top rated places in the nation, so my hope is that they will be respectful and treat me like a human being. I have been hospitalized twice before somewhere else and it was a complete nightmare that I haven't even fully dealt with yet. I can't even remember most ...

Maybe not?

I'm off to see a therapist. Well, I made the first call to getting the insurance I need to get there. I guess the rest of the information will come in time. I actually did something I've really needed to do for years.

Internalising v Externalising

Behavioral and psychological problems are often described in terms of their degrees of internalizing versus externalizing presentation. Earning trust

How do you earn back trust from people who have suffered from your bad behaviour, I mean, like me for example, I used to lie all the time to manipulate my hubby to do things or to agree with me, and when he found out, he got really angry, but these days, even when I'm being sincere about something, he still calls me a liar, because he finds it hard to believe me. I know ...

Emotional limbo...or just stuck in an emotional state

Whenever I'm going through a downtime, which has been lately, I tell myself that it will pass. Because it will. Even if it takes a couple weeks, all it takes is one HUGE distraction (which is usually the ...

Anyone else here have MDD?

Major Depressive Disorder; I heard it's the same thing as Clinical Depression, don't know for sure. But I've pretty much been severely depressed for most of the last 15 years. Definitely not the same as Bipolar, where you get to go to the opposite extreme, not that I'm saying that's any easier... But I pretty much have had very few moments of actual happiness. It's a tough thing to try changing (as in CBT/DBT) or ...

Opinion Sought On Causes of BPD Article Please?

Found the following "cuase " of BPD
http://www.toddlertime.com/dx/borderlin ... anning.htm
"Borderline Personality Disorder individuals cannot sustain emotional commitment. They change emotions in midstream and have difficulty holding on to feelings of love. Love turns to indifference, estrangement and perhaps back again to love. This dysfunctional cycle has its roots in early childhood. Borderlines lose their love for the parent of the opposite sex when the idealization of that parent ...
