Buspirone---does it work for GAD?

I have GAD, have had it all my life. I've tried booze, pot (when I was younger) paxil and wellbutrin. The booze damn near killed me so I gave it up/ Smoking grass was great and did the job for about 20 years but as the potency began to increase in the 90's I began to get paranoid and axious rather than being relaxed. So I finally gave it up. Paxil worked but killed my ...

Would this be considered Social Phobia?

In the past few months I have found myself starting to have panic attacks if there are big crowds around me. I don't know what causes this... but I just start to feel really uptight, then I start to breathe really fast, and then I start to panic so bad that I start to shake. I don't know if this is because I just don't feel comfortable or what... but the panic attacks are getting ...

Psychiatry v.s. Psychology

Psychiatric threathment is not good for anyone who is looking for a way to solve a personal problem. Psychiatric threatment does not heal, it only kills and disables the human mind, to eliminate a (possible) effect of a personal problem.

The only way to be able to heal from a personal problem is the bieleve that the problem should/does not exist. Psychiatric doctors try to learn people with problems that they are ill wich makes ...

I feel miserable

I love him and he loves me, is that good enough for a relationship? He and I are so imcompatiable. We are from different countries, carrying different point of view about everything, and I don't express myself well in English that depresses me most. I got depressed all the time, probably because of these. Also, I don't like to fell likeinferior to him, and yet I don't want to. He is a typical man, growing ...

EPS, tardive dyskinesia and dystonia

Hi all,

I am new to this board and just thought I would relate a story about one experience I had while in a snake pit of a hospital in a very small town. The head shrink there overdosed me completely on Haldol. As a result, one night during dinner I started to have symptoms of dystonia. If my mother had not been visiting me right then, I may not have gotten the help I ...

P.S. to all who care at all

I have many problems w/ anxiety and sometimes social anxiety myself. I also have OCD and am somewhat of a control freak as a result. I still believe that I would make a killer friend, though!

Just FYI. I only post on boards that hold some personal meaning for me, not arbitrarily. :)

Not looking forward to anything in the future

I've had depression for over a year now, and have been talking to a counselor for help. After trying to get help and trying new things to get my spirits back up, nothing has worked. I've lost interest in a lot of things. I'd told me myself that things WILL get better, and I'm still waiting.

In a few days my high school senior year will start. A few months ago, I've just had plans ...
