What is this personality?

Someone who is addicted to pills, someone who has a criminal record, constantly steals from people who try to help him. He was raised by my grandmother, and his father is non the less a piece of sh*t. He has had no guideance, what kind of personality is this? and it is changable?

Sounds like psychopathy or antisocial PD to me--criminal behavior, stealing from people who try to help him. Addictions, borderline PD, and narcissistic PD are often comorbidities.

No, if a person lacks a moral compass and emapthy, it can't be fixed. Those parts of the brain never developed properly. Nothing will make that right.

Meds might help a little with the impulse control, though.

Sounds like a textbook criminal. Recommended post-diagnostic treatment is a jail-term along with some drug rehabilitation therapy. Afterwards, a quarantine social environment and a stable job.

Sounds like typical addict behavior to me.

From that discripion it is hard to tell. which pills are he addicted to? is he stealing to support his addiction, or did the stealing and decipt start before the addiction? if it started before, what led up to the substance abuse, was it a personality dissorder or maybe a mood dissorder that led to self medication? please elaborate. Criminals tend to be Anti-social personality dissorder, but with that small discription, i cant be sure anything diagnosable is wrong with him. Did he have frontal lobe damage, that causes similair behavior to anti social personality dissorder. But he might just be an addict, which would be good thing concidering it is curable. Lack of morals and lack of empathy is uncurable.
