I have become extremely successful in my career as a NPD, so I am damn proud of myself for having it. It is something that you are and nothing to be ashamed of, especially if you are aware of it. If you are not aware of it and going around hurting folks, that might be another story.

Because you are self-aware of your NPD, you can learn to control it. You can also learn to tailor it so if you know that the person you are going to severely hurt will be damaged, you can spare them the pain.

I'd choose NPD and living a wealthy lifestyle over being poor any day. That is just my personal opinion.

I strongly agree with your statement. I have never told anyone what's in my head. :D :D :D

My ex... I would tell. Only because she would tell me what was going on through her head, and she was significantly more narcissistic than I was. I am diagnosed NPD and she never got diagnosed. However, I'd say I am more of a 6-7 and she was a full blown malignant 9-10. When I told her, if anything, she would advise me on how to further manipulate. Talk about crazy! We would have been successful together as a narcissistic couple but I could not bear her controlling everything.

Welcome to Stage 2(TM). ;-)

    1. You're a certified asshole.

    2. You figure it out and bathe in your triumph. <- You are here.

    3. You understand that other people matter ... to a limit extent. (At the very least, they bake your bread.)

    4. You learn that others not only have feelings, but proper capabilities, some of which far exceed your own. Jack of all trades, yes, but very much master of none. <- I am here

If you make it to #5 before me, please, by all means share! I do wonder ... :-D
