I definitely agree. Most of us are asocial, boring geeks and recluses and refrain from sex and relationships. We are anything but enthusiastic and viviacious. Lively? Feh. Dramatic? Only about ourselves. I don't see much drama here. Oversensitive? You're probably right about that. We do tend to be intelligent. Some of us can be a little OCD at times.
I wonder if the OP might be projecting about the "dramatic HPD" stuff. I only wish I was. HPDs are more fun to be around and better liked.
As the guy with the awesome accent mentions occasionally,
Who would that be?
Maybe "OCD-like histrionics" just doesn't seem like the right term. It's like a start-up specializing in new foods: "hairy peanut butter," "pickled oranges" or "salted spring water."
I needed that. Thanks.
Obviously the OP is referring to the covert Ns who post here. cNPD isn't recognized but it should be and probably will be eventually. In the meantime we have to put up with not having an official diagnosis, being misdiagnosed (or incompletely diagnosed) and not receiving the right sort of treatment/therapy. That's why some of us have decided to be our own therapists and coming here to talk and support each other is a big part of that. It's no cure, but it's better than nothing. It's not "WebMD" syndrome.
Actually, I wasn't triggered by the OP's post. I thought it was a joke.
OP, why are you here? Do you have NPD? Or are you a troll who gets off taking potshots at mentally ill people?
OP, I suggest you read up on covert narcissism. Just Google it or watch some Sam Vaknin videos. He talks about it a lot. It really exists.
Have a nice day.
