Had to post about this because I've just been doing it in bed. That erotic body stroking that first got us noticed back in time. I can't image the dry type of N doing it. But my phallic type I'm certain will do it all the time, as I do.

I read recently that watching reality tv increases empathy

I've got a little secret to share with you. You know how particularly sexual women can ejaculate seminal fluid. Squirting, it's commonly called. Well, men can do it as well. I think our plumbing is essentially the same as that of females. When I'm in a particularly amorous mood I can do it. The technique is difficult to master. I've only managed it three times. I'm looking forward to getting a girlfriend to do it for me! When I find the right one, that is! She'll be another FN, I'm sure of that. My style is avoidant at the moment. I'm sure the Californian porn industry will discover this thing soon enough.

I shan't be watching reality tv anytime soon, however good for me it's supposed to be!

A couple of other body languagy things that I (don't)do, are that I find it difficult to naturally maintain eye contact, and I don't like hugging. And I used to hate sharing a bed, although that's a different thing.

I just read the OP.

I'm slouching as I type this, my frequent computer reading posture.

I gesticulate wildly and unconsciously when I talk. Sometimes I'll embarrass myself when I not only talk, but gesticulate to myself in public.

I forgot the eye contact thing. I have to make a conscious effort to do it and will often turn my head away. I often close my eyes when asked a question and I'm thinking of the right response. One girlfriend I had told me that I would turn over in my sleep and hug her. Mother!!! Does anyone here alter their persona/voice/pronunciation etc depending on the time of day or who you are with? Business/family/parents/opposite sex/dentist, doctor, optician etc. I think this is mainly a FN thing.

^ My mother does that. The voice thing. One minute she would be on the phone to her dentist, talking like the Queen, then on to a plumber, sounding "street" and down with the kids. So annoying.

Sorry.

I just looked at this thread as I found it interesting and like to learn about body language being Aspie and all with a mother I suspect is NPD.

It's interesting.

Solstice, I'm a female narcissist, but never change my voice/accent depending on who I'm with. I've heard both men and women do this, though, and as far as I know, none of them were narcissists.

clearskies, are you that rude in real life?

Bitty, do you know what subtype you are? I do all those things. I've always sensed that it is something to do with my fragility. I know normals do the telephone voice thing, for instance. I'm from Yorkshire. People from there often have two personas. One for dealing with locals and another for dealing with professional people and authority figures. In fact "us" (instead of me) is used as a first person pronoun in the former industrial parts of Yorkshire. An example of that collective narcissism thing that Sam Vaknin talks about?

I've got a thing about my hair. I'm 53 next month. Yet I've got a very full head of very fine hair (to go along with my youthful good looks) and I'm forever running my fingers through it. I will only get it cut once every 4 months; whether it needs to be or not!
