Brutal question and not realistic. You can only get a very superficial understanding, if even that online. Not only that, assuming a person is being truthful is another kettle of fish... Some people are genuinely working on things, and others...nyyyyaaaaah...Nope. It's NS for many.

The people I have been in communication with, very nice. However, that is online, and Skype...superficial, video game territory with a touch more reality. Flesh and Blood and the whites of the eyes or means nothing. But I am strange that way. Words on a screen have lost any meaning.

I think what's most important isn't what we think about each other, but what we think about ourselves (our true selves).

I see it this way: I'm here to work out my $#%^. If you're just here to continue playing out your delusions and to use the forums as part of your supply - well... You'll get out of it what you put into it - just like anything else in life. ;-)

Narcs here seem by and large thoughtful.

Inspiritus:

It's a mixed bag. In some cases, the anonymity of the internet allows people to be more open and honest than they are in real life. Because it has no consequences irl and because people can find I guess kindred souls.

Of course it matters what people think of each other because otherwise there would be no point in interacting.
