Knowing where to go.

Postby Kira-Amelia » Sun Jan 22, 2012 5:49 pm

Hey, Kira here. I have alters which is easy enough to know, to go to a DID board for help, same with self-harm and sexual abuse.
The problem is, i am still working with psychiatrists and do not have a diagnosis of anything, so in terms of the odd things like Paranoia, Hallucinations I do not know where to go, i don't think it is schizophrenia. Or getting low but not have clinical depression. So if I need help with these odd things were can I go?

Thanks
- Kira

Hi Kira,

Please find below some links I selected based on your post.
I hope they help! This is a huge site; it can take awhile to familiarize yourself with the various forums.
Please let me know if I can help in any way.

Well wishes,

Hi Kira and welcome to the forum. :D

I'm the mod at the DID forum (and also elsewhere at the site). Most people with DID suffer with multiple issues like what you mention. You are welcome to talk about some of that stuff on the DID forum because some people will also have personalities that are going through similar experiences. For example, many people with DID get depressed because there is so much to deal with seeing as each part has their own issues. You are more than welcome to talk about how you are feeling on the DID forum.

Some people might relate to the paranoia and hallucinations on the DID forum too, I'm not sure. So if you want to bring that up on the DID forum you are also welcome to as a lot of those kinds of problems can be interrelated to whatever experiences caused your DID in the first place. You could also try some of the forums Evol suggested if you feel like people there may have more to say about your situation.

Definitely talk about self harm on the self harm forum and sexual abuse on the sexual abuse forums though. They are very welcoming forums and also people who go there are aware that the discussions may be triggering (still put a trigger warning though if there is anything graphic in your posts), whereas discussions about abuse and self harm can be much more triggering and get a lot less responses on the DID forum.

Hope that helps a bit. See you around. :D
In a way, I am not defined by my dissociation. In a way, I am.
