IFS guidance and support.

Postby Karp8904 » Mon Nov 21, 2016 11:27 pm

I am currently working with an IFS guide. Currently I am in a predicament where it feels as though there is an overwhelming amount of decisions/choices to make in various areas of my life and on top of which my current job environment consistently triggers a lot of younger parts in my system. So yes, the question...a part felt it was neccessary to provide a summarised context! A part had raised the issue in working with guides(how I label therapists) because of part's implicit understanding and expectations of their role, A LOT of responsibility is laid at their feet. Also heavy attachments are made by younger parts. I was pondering on behalf of other parrts if it was a possibility to explore an independant journey route or maybe a different one entirely? There are a lot of parts surrounding this decision...oh lord, free me haha! Any advice/response would be GREATLY appreciated!

(I'm not sure if the means of posting this question are correct but I found reaching a position to post convoluted and awkward and parts were becoming exacerbated, so...A NEW TOPIC. Others are more than welcome to create sub-topics/catergories, ect)

Welcome to the forum, Karp. Sorry you've found it difficult to find your way around! I hope I can help a little. :)

Is IFS "Internal Family Systems Therapy?" And, when you mention parts. Do you think that perhaps people in the dissociative-identity/ forum might relate or have experience that might be helpful here? If so, I can move this thread over there.

Hi,

yes to confirm I'm referring to internal family systems.

No I have checked this out for myself thoroughly and I do not fall under experiencing dissociative identity disorder, it is specifically support and advice I'm seeking from anyone working through ifs.

Thank you though!

Perhaps here then? therapy/

That's the quiet end of the forum, though. So if you're able to reply to other people there, please do. I think most therapy discussions here. Take place in the context of the issues being tackled. As either a formal diagnosis or "feels similar."
