What's wrong with the site?

Postby Endymion » Wed Jan 14, 2015 10:51 am

Every time I view PsychForums on a desktop PC Internet Explorer crashes frequently (every few page views) and has to reopen. It only happens on this site.

Every time I view PsychForums on a mobile device (or try to) the pages are 'hijacked' and I'm taken to other pages (bongacams, other sex cam sites, etc.). This is so frequent I can't really consider viewing the site on a mobile device. Again, it only happens on this site.

Both desktop and mobile devices are fully protected with antivirus software, etc.

So what is wrong with this goddamn site?

Hi, i didnt have these issues but i use Mozilla + adblock on my PC. A solution might be to switch browsers, and see if it happens still?

I haven't experienced these issues.

Try first clearing your caches and cookies (on both your computer and mobile device). Google how to do this properly if you are unsure as simply clearing your history will not clear your caches and cookies (at least it doesn't in my browser so I'd assume it doesn't in most other browsers also).

Try using a different browser. A lot of people's issues have been resolved by trying out a different browser. There are lots to choose from. Also make sure your flash player is up to date. The side and the top ads require a flash player and I find that when my flash player is out of date, the site is very difficult to load and has problems. Updating your flash player to the recent version should help on that front.

Logging in to the forum will help to avoid lots of the intrusive ads. If you haven't been logging in, then try that.

If you are still experiencing ads, get an ad blocker.

Let me know how you go with these steps and if it helps. I think it will. :D
In a way, I am not defined by my dissociation. In a way, I am.

I have the same issue with the forums being 'hijacked' by other websites
Its annoying.
I can't even read a post without getting redirected to some other website.
It seems to only happen on a mobile device only. I cleared my history, cookies and catche. No change.

It sounds like the device browser you are on has been infected. I have not noticed that behavior at all. Sometimes ads from ad networks can unbeknownst to the host (or advertising network ) contain viruses that hijack browsers.

I suggest looking into malware scanners for your PC and/or mobile device and see if it shows anything.
