Keep getting logged out

I know there has been a few tech problems lately and i was just wondering if that is whats causing this...

When i'm posting or sending a pm when i go to submit it tells me i need to login! Its not everytime but quite a lot recently.
Also, i haven't been getting emails to let me know when someone replies to a post or i receive a pm.

I don't know about the logging out problem, w-willow.

But I had the same problem with emails at the beginning of the year up to a week ago. It turned out Gmail had sent them to spam. Have you checked there? This was only a recent change for me, before that it was working fine.

Thank you for getting back to me. I checked spam but not there. It happened before a while ago for a week or two and then sorted itself so hopefully that will happen again!

The logging out only seems to be when i take a while to write so i'm thinking its just timing out or something.

Yes it times out after 30mins I think. The best way I've found around this is to check the box that says "log me in automatically" (or some similar wording to that) when I'm logging in and then, before hitting the submit button on my message/reply highlighting all the text and pressing Control + C to copy. That way if I suddenly lose it all from timing out, I get logged back in automatically and can just press Control + V to paste my message/reply back into the box again.

For this, check "User Control Panel" (up near where you go to private messages). For PMs, go to the third tab "Board Preferences", "Edit Global Settings", check that "Administrators can e-mail me information" is set to yes, and that "Notify me on new private messages" is set to yes, click "submit" button. Then for replies, same tab "Board Preferences", left menu "edit posting defaults", check "Notify me upon replies by default" is set to yes, click "submit" button.

I started copying when i'd finished typing so if it's timed out i can paste it

Re the emails, i already checked all those things but i have started getting them again anyway so its ok

Cool. I hope you find it helps too. I do it all the time now, because there is nothing more annoying than putting loads of thought into what you've said and then losing it all!
