Strange Thoughts: Mirtazapine or Zyprexa withdrawal

Postby alisongoldfrapp » Tue Jul 16, 2013 3:59 pm

Hello. I started taking Mirtazapine at 15 mg two weeks ago and was tapered off of Zyprexa from 5 mg to 2.5 mg. Starting this Sunday, I have been having strange thoughts about harming others to the point of obsession. I've had OCD in the past, but I've never had these type of thoughts before. I've gotten totally off of Zyprexa before so I don't believe it was due to Zyprexa withdrawal. Could it be due to the Remeron?

This would be a great thing to talk to your doctor about. No one here would be able to tell you definitively what the reasoning is. Even if you have come off of zyprexa before without any issue, that doesn't mean that it couldn't be different this time around. It sounds like there could be a lot of factors.
