Women's Studies

Postby Astra » Thu Dec 15, 2005 11:59 pm

This is just a general question, nothing specific. What do you guys think about Women's Studies? I find that most people have this preconcieved notion of Women's Studies as a class just for women who hate men, sitting around discussing periods and childbirth. Any thoughts? Has anyone taken Women's Studies? Would any men take Women's Studies?

I went to a couple of lesbian psychology classes with my sister. And it wasn't all male bashing. It was actually very interesting. I have heard of women's studies that was also something that my sister was into. I never thought that it was about hating men and talking about periods. I might be wrong but I thought it was a class dedicated to womens accomplishments, struggles and the female psyche. I might be wrong though. What ever it is it sounds like it would definitely be interesting.

feminists, they create there own suffering. they have what we have allowed them to have and they still insist on biting the hand that feeds them.

Why are you promoting violence against woman?
There are posters here who have been abused and are triggered easily including myself.

We create our own suffering? Hmmmm I'm sorry but I can't buy that. Women have been oppressed since the beginning of time. And the only reason why it went on for so long is because men are physically stronger than females. That does not give anyone the right to "own" someone else. We were enslaved. And about your us biting the hand that feeds us, I beg to differ. What sex is known for their culinary skills. Yes the men may have been hunters, but we were gatherers and we made the sustinance edible. So, no, it is the men who bite the hand that feeds them. And it is the men who have made the lifegivers lifeless for so many years. I have to say Parker you are deluted in your views on women. Bastard
