Here's a discussion about the information that may or may not be in π, and here's a joke about it.

Did you listen to the entire song?

The Serious Eats Pi Day contest this year is still open until the 19th (so I have an excuse for more π geekery ). So far, at least one person has gotten the mathematics wrong, but some of these are really interesting, like the apple pie filled with cut-out digits. Carl Sagan would be proud! Apparently I'm not the only one who thought of a Whoopie Pi, but do you know what I haven't seen yet? A Fly Pi! Someone could have fun with that.

Cake Wrecks had a Pi Day post, which I obviously missed, and there's something else I missed, too.

This picture is all over the Internet, and I never noticed the backwards 5 until Jen Yates of Cake Wrecks pointed it out. And someone else pointed out a backwards 2 in the lower left, but that's easier to miss since it's upside-down. I'm not sure if this is better or worse than the bad math on the square pie I just linked to.

And because this was too cute not to post...

The Pi Day contest is finally over. The Apple Pi won the grand prize, as I expected, but it was tied with the Laser Cut Peach Pie. I'm not sure why, as the only geeky thing about that one appears to be the involvement of a laser cutter. :?

The Pi Landscape Pie is an interesting concept. It was inspired by Daniel Tammet's vision. (Scroll down to the part about π.)

And now, just for the giggles, here's Humble Pi and Not So Humble Pi,...and some more π jokes, just because I can. Oh, and another one for you Saganites. ;)

Hey, look, a chocolate pie...chart!

I couldn't find any approximate (casual) pies. :( This one might work if it were true to the original shape.

Actually, in the US it's Peach Cobbler Day. If you ask an American what a cobbler is (in the context of pastries), you might be told it's a square pie. That's probably an oversimplified description, but it's amusing nonetheless.

I know, and I just realized I forgot this last month. I even missed Marcel Grossmann's birthday last week.  (Grossmann was Einstein's nerdy sidekick who did all the mathematics. Well, most of the mathematics, anyway. ;))
