MM, the theme of fairytales has long played a part in psychology (the struggles against evil a metaphore for our own inner stuggles).

I suggest you read up more on it. :)

Jung discusses it in the "Four Archetypes"

http://sycofx.wordpress.com/2005/09/10/excerpt/

and Marie-Louise Von Franz carried on his work on Fairytales in such books as "The Interpretation of Fairytales", "The Feminine in Fairy Tales" & "Shadow and Evil in Fairytales".

I think it's a subject you'd enjoy :)

Sleeping Beauty is my favourite. It's theme is very much about overcoming obstacles in confronting and defeating evil.

I was taken to see Alice in Wonderland as a toddler and apparently I had to be carried out of the cinema because I was screaming hysterically. My young perceptivelittle brain had seen through the shiney Disney facade, and seen the true nightmarish trip that it was.

Not sure if Disney did Shrek or not but this scene with snow white, is my all time favorite animated clip.

Darn it, One, you mean you can control sparrows and squirrels and get them to attack?

I think I need a bigger sword

Simon, that does sound really interesting, I'll write those titles down & see if I can find them. :)

I just watched Ratatouille with my rats. It was the cutest experience.
