Whats your area of interest?

Postby 1Ste » Thu Sep 10, 2009 4:18 pm

Whats your career?
If your in college, whats your major?
If yours 18 or under, what do you want to do?

My info is in my profile but I just thought A thread would be interesting as well.

I am currently majoring in psychology and will apply to graduate school for a MA school psychology.

but that wasn't always what I wanted to do, I actually changed my major a couple times.

2-3 years ago I could see myself doing networks and computer security, so my major was computer information systems, Im pretty good with computers, know how to program, build computers and repair them, but I lost interest in it, did not seem enjoyable to do for rest of my life, so then I changed to business, no idea why I did that, So I eventually realized, gee Id be really good at psychology..

So thats where I am today, I can really see myself helping people between the ages of 1 and 18, but I feel I could also teach some area of psychology.

so what about you?
Because I am very busy I may not always reply to a post or thread in which I have helped you in once before(Or posted in before), if you still need help or need a reply from me just contact me via PM or messenger.

I´m a bit older than you.
I tried to study tourism but at the end of the first course I left it.
Then, I studied for being a teacher and this is what I am.
I also like Phychology but I never thought becoming one of them. I like helping people but I´m afraid that as a phychologist I wouldn´t have a great future.

Well i have a music degree and am working part time as in instrumental teacher. I attempted to get qualified teacher status to help with my instrumental teaching career, but due to the fact that i don't want to work in a classroom setting (that is the only way to get the qualification) and my own personal difficulties i withdrew. I will also soon be volunteering with a company called Citylimits Employment which helps people with learning difficulties find work. My future career would hopefully be around helping people, both adults and children with learning, mental health and physical difficulties.

My career right now is being a bum. I like it. It's going to stink if they make me go back to work. I have a chemistry degree but I got a job in food service for a looney bin. I rose up to be a supervisor. yuk.
If I work again I'd like to have a job where I don't have to deal with people, much less supervise them. Unless I can be a porn director. Now that might be interesting.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.

I might major in computer engineering and system analysis. I am currently going for a associate of general studies degree. Some of the credits will transfer. I'm doing this because I can't afford university yet, plus I'm unsure so I'm focusing on the basics. Also, I considered psychology.
Nothing appropriate comes to mind.

I think that most of people who wrote in this thread considered phychology.

I'm a college freshman majoring in psychology right now.

It's just so interesting trying to figure out people. I see myself doing nothing else. Hopefully I'll be able to help people in the future, and maybe myself as well.
I'm just wierd like that.

Theres not alot of money in psychology unless you get an MA or PHD, but there are certainly alot of positions around the world for it..

When I went to college I was majoring in psychology and minoring in history...I wanted to be a teacher. I dropped out soon after starting. I've always wanted to work with animals and now my goal is to become a veterinary assistant, although, I want to be a vet tech.
