Any Good Movies About People Living With Mental Disorders?

I really like learning about my mental disorders so it's nice to watch stories of people who have gone through the same things. Are there any good movies who show the stories of people living with mental disorders? I really like the movie girl interrupted. Any good movies similar to that one?

Girl interrupted is good indeed, but so is One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and Donnie Darko. I cannot think of many others, to be honest, but I'm going to move this thread to the Just for Fun forum, where you will get much more responses.

what about bob - starring bill murray. it's hilarious.

On the television sometimes I see that show P.O.V. - Point Of View & Independent Lens, One of them program's had a person's life documented whom has some kind of mental illness. Try those out

There's a new one called Adam about a guy with Asperger's. I haven't seen it yet.

That's an excellent choice. Bob (Bill Murray) plays a guy who has OCD in it. I loved that movie but I've never seen it on TV now for a long time. I haven't seen it in any shops to buy either.

Duh - I just saw one based on a true story a coupld of months ago. The Soloist.

Most movies about mental illness bother me since they don't show how bad it can get. Forced hospitalizations and forced druggings take a toll that people don't seem to understand. Lots of people seem to have the attitude that that's all you have to do. People like Nathaniel Ayers -the guy portayed in The Soloist - won't take newer drugs that might help them because they remember the abusive treatment they suffered in the past by people who said they were doing it to "help" him. he actually got ECT. I wish the film had explained that.

One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest is the best film about psych hospital mental illness. You see the power games and how they hurt people.

Nathaniel Ayers - that name seems awfully familiar I will go no further.
