telemachus, St. Thomas' Hospital is indeed very central - This is a fantastic opportunity for you. Just one further question though: Where are you going to stay? Accomodation in centarl London is (as you probably know) ridiculously expensive, unless you're going to live with lots of others. The University of York has indeed a good rep., but the Depart of Chemistry there has an even better one! It's been ranked within the top 5 in the UK, and it even has it's own NMR machine (which i'm quite excited about as I'll be getting to use it).
Twistermind, the object that 'impacted' Jupiter is a UFO now, because we do not know what it was - i.e. it is 'unidentified'. However, when telescopes examine the mark/'dent' that it made on Jupiter's surface, they might be able to infer what type of object it was. In my opinion, it was probably just an asteroid that became loose from the Asteroid Belt.
