I have one question for the scientist. It could be the UFO I saw last Monday the impact of this comet in Jupiter planet? I´m serious, ok.

telemachus, St. Thomas' Hospital is indeed very central - This is a fantastic opportunity for you. Just one further question though: Where are you going to stay? Accomodation in centarl London is (as you probably know) ridiculously expensive, unless you're going to live with lots of others. The University of York has indeed a good rep., but the Depart of Chemistry there has an even better one! It's been ranked within the top 5 in the UK, and it even has it's own NMR machine (which i'm quite excited about as I'll be getting to use it).

Twistermind, the object that 'impacted' Jupiter is a UFO now, because we do not know what it was - i.e. it is 'unidentified'. However, when telescopes examine the mark/'dent' that it made on Jupiter's surface, they might be able to infer what type of object it was. In my opinion, it was probably just an asteroid that became loose from the Asteroid Belt.

I know... ...I feel honoured now to have secured funding for three years, and the stipend isn't too bad to be honest. Yours is obviously going to be a few thousand more than mine because you're going to be living in London - I always found that humerous *the way the stipend rises for London institutes!). We're both lucky... ...Just think of all of the unemployed that we'll be leaving back here in Ireland? Man, this is a great opportunity for us. I have had a few interviews around the UK too, and aso Ireland. I accepted an offer from an Irish institute too before I got the York offer (that one was at DKIT).

Anyway, I'll be in london the odd weekend I think, because it's only 2.5 hours on the train. I could reasonably make a day-trip out of it if I go early and return late.
