I have never visited ireland, but over many years met many irish in the uk who have settled here.

My sons great grandfather was from northern ireland, and had a friend from many years ago whos parents were from ireland and his mun spoilt me something rotten.

My perception is a good one based on my experiences with the irish folk over here.

George Best is a living legend in the uk and the greatest ever performance i have ever saw was at the band aid concert by Bono of U2 who of course is irish.

Bestie actually played for my home city, cork, after he finished his career with Man united. I follow united mainly because Roy Keane is from Cork and so was Denis Irwin, who I am related to via marriage!

What a fine player dennis was, such a loyal servant to the red devils.

Something else Ireland is famous for is guinness and leprechaun's i could do with some good luck at the moment can you arrange a real one to be sent over.

I have plastic one in a sealed box and everytime i move the box i end up moving.

I've always imagined Ireland to be a very green place in terms on the land there. I don't know much about Ireland, but my stepfather has an opinion that the Irish do everything backwards (eg, eat dessert before dinner). I'm not sure if this is true or just something he made up.

Almost all of my ancestors are from Ireland, so I have a strong desire to visit there sometime in my life. Preferably for a while, not just a quick two week trip

Every image I've ever seen of Ireland leaves me with the impression that it's a stunningly beautiful country. And I've always perceived the people as being very friendly, but maybe that's just an image, I don't know for certain

I have a shamrock ring I got at an Irish festival a few years ago, and people are constantly complimenting me on it asking where I got it. Then they usually ask my last name so as to make sure I should be wearing it, then they're always satisfied when I tell them :p

I THINK that we're originally from Armagh region, but don't quote me, that much detail I don't know very well. I read it in a book at an Irish fest when going over Irish surnames, but I don't know my family personal family history well enough to say for sure if I had any ancestors there. My Great-Great-Great Grandfather came to North America in the 1830's, so it's been quite a while since any of us actually lived there

It's in Northern Ireland, but my grandfather was very much the typical Irish-Catholic (strict, faithful, and 11 kids!)

Beautiful green pastures with ruins of castles and overcast skies. Also prejudice toward Polish immigrants.
