Forget about mental illness for a while and just let loose in here.

No I dont think i-to-i goes to Scotland, that is what I was wondering cause I could only find these countries far away on their lists.

I think Scotland is the closest I can get from Norway if I remember the map correctly ..? :) i mean apart from Sweden and Denmark

What about somewhere like Finland or Iceland? - Helsinki is near you. Also, what about Ireland?! Ryanair have flights that go direct from Oslo to Dublin now.

Scotland is very near to you too though - yeh - and Edinburgh is a great city. Just keep remembering that you are free in the EU - There are no borders. If I were you, I would get a train or bus to Copenhagan and then travel south into central Europe. Austria is a country with magnificant scenery.

Still I would be missing a traveling accompanion! I dont have the energy nor mental health to be traveling by myself anymore! Read my post in hope "treatment centres" if you want to know what I mean :) The problem is not really where to go but what to do once I get there! and of course HOW to get there is a major issue because I am afraid of many forms of transports like airplanes and boats. I have tried going to Denmark by bus and it is a real pain especially if you are going by yourself. I think I would have to bite my teeth together and catch the plane. Or maybe train... Iceland is too far away!!

Hey,

I just read your post about treatment centres and the only thing that I can think of in relation to that is a psychiatric hospital. I don't think you had that in mind though. The word 'hospital' is misleading, however, because these places are usually like hotels. I stayed in one a few years ago for two weeks and I actually enjoyed my stay there.

I would struggle to find things to do if I went travelling on my own too because I am socially anxious. However, it really is envigorating to have the freedom to go where you want to, and to be able to make decisions without having to consult other people. Have you ever travelled anywhere on your own before?

My advice to you is: Just do it.

Well in that case, can I go to a psychiatric hospital in a different country than my own, and stay for free? and not having to be refered from my doctor? and not get it on my record that i stayed in a psych hospital? can they force me to stay? many things to consider!
I found a treatment centre in the UK that charges 2000 pounds a week! Excellent! Thats everything in my bank account gone in one week!

The question is not if I have traveled alone before, it is whether I haven't traveled alone before! Traveling alone I bet is one of the reasons why I feel so sick right now. I wont do it again, ever!

I need someone to consult with otherwise I feel lost.

I cannot answer any of those questions. When you cross a nation's border, your health issues become unclear unless the two nations that you are travelling between have health agreements set in place. Do you understand what I mean? So, I just cannot answer your questions truthfully.

I feel like I'm running out of options with you here, so, here's one of my 'backup' suggestions: Why don't you ask someone from your family to go with you?; Even better, why don't you ask an Internet friend or 'real' friend to go with you? I think you said that you don't have many friends but surely you have 'acquaintances'?

I know what you mean, the whole EEA/EU and health agreements stuff.. But I have been in the UK before and have used the health services like GP so I am guessing it wont be a problem.

I have asked all the friends I can think of that I want to travel with.. and as said my siblings are across the world from here and wont be anywhere near here. my parents are working.

I will see what I come up with. Im sure some things can work out. Could even contact the tourist center.

Thanks youve been helpful:)

I've been helpful? hehe, it sure does not feel like it. Maybe you should post about this in a different website. I'm sure that you would get more responses. This website is, after all, a purely psychological website.

Take care,
Kevin

Well you are right I should have joined this post and the other treatment centres post as one, because that one is more accurate. Here you get the idea that I just want a vacation and tips of where to go, but actually it is much more than that and very psychologically influenced. I also put this post under "just for fun" in case. So I dont actually see this post fitting in more on other websites. You misunderstood my intentions of traveling probably due to a misleading title. I dont just want to travel to travel, and I dont want to travel by myself because I am feeling socially isolated and it is one of the things that trigger my psychological issues.
