Obligatory Anti-Daylight Savings Time Post

It's 2023 why are we still doing this stupid $#%^?

Someone told me recently that this is all because of towns trying to save on oil for their street lamps, so they adjusted the time so they'd have to burn less oil for the times when the lights were on?
I'm not sure if that makes sense, but either way, it is silly.

/\ It began during the first or second world war to save energy and resources or something like that.

And like any good war measure, it just can't quite seem to go away....
