word for this?

Postby shotgun pulse » Tue Nov 08, 2011 5:15 am

When some idea or problem is bothering you and you're half-asleep half-awake and feel "haunted" by the abstraction and presence of it throughout the night? Anyone know what I mean?

The best advice I can offer is to just roll with it. You might find good things come of this.

My sleep is very strange, but I can function the next day. All sorts of things run through my head at night. Sometimes it is technical. I wake up and write down software that comes to me. I may hear music that I struggle to recreate upon waking. All that work should leave me tired, but it doesn't.

A strange presence is something I have heard about, but never experienced. Maybe you can change it to a friendly presence. Have you tried to direct it? I realize it is not quite a dream, but there is some similarity.

I recently started having dreams again, and I find I can replay the same dream many times while changing some portions to make it more to my liking. I have asked sleep specialists about this, and no one seems to think it hurts anything. Try changing the nature or perception of the presence.

Its your mind. Enjoy it.
