Hi i take Seroquel XR for insomnia, although it hasnt been working for me since i commenced taking it. Today i asked my doctor what the "XR" meant as i couldnt recall taking "Seroquel XR" just "Seroquel" when it was actually helping me sleep better. He replied that it is slow release, but after reflecting i think the standard "Seroquel" had enough "kick" to get me to nod off whereas the "XR" doesnt have that. Is it possible to split the XR tablet so it releases as quickly as a standard tablet?
I take 150 mg of Seroquel for the purpose of helping me get to sleep. I have no other side effects other than drowsiness (or in this case not so much at all). Gah! i just want it to work, im inclined to crush it to a pulp if it would help better.
Thanks, James.

I would recommend soeaking to your doctor about changing back to the ordinary seroquel rather than crushing an xr tablet, crushing tablets that aren't meant to be crushed can be pretty dangerous.
