insomnia issues

Postby spaceboy409 » Wed Nov 18, 2009 3:44 am

Okay so I have to take ambien every nite to get any sort of sleep.

At first i was getting good 7-8 hours, now I only get about 4 or 5, and I wake up throughout the night.

Ive tried so many nites to sleep without an ambien but my brain wont shut off

it puts me to sleep great but now ive been waking up throughout the nite.

I dont drink, and have been on several different anti-depressants within the last 4 months and im so frustrated I cant get good sleep.

The doctor gave me some rozarem to try, ive took it twice and it made way tired but I couldnt fall asleep.

Ive also tried trazodone, and it was the worst stuff ive ever took in my life. It made me so drowsy but so anxious at the same time, and i felt so hungover the next day.

So basicially i just stick to the ambien but my sleep is not very good, will i ever get my sleep back? any advice or experiences would be great. I dont have anymore refills of ambien after the one i just filled so i am worried.

Hi,

I can't make the connection between you requiring ambien while getting an adequate amount (7-8 hours) of sleep? What was the original problem? Was it that you just woke up a lot during the night but still got 7-8 hours? In any case, sleeping tablets are not for everyone, and they can have vicious side-effects. If you want to get off them, then you'll just have to endure at least one terrible night's sleep as your body uses up the last of the drug in yor system (and then moans at you for not taking the drug again!).

What were your habits before bedtime previous to all of this such that you needed medication?

I think it is not worth to take so many medicines as it will not going to work and it will make your body week, and can cause reaction too, I am quite surprise that if you are getting good sleep for 7-8 hours than why you are taking medicines it is only because you woke up during night, but for this problem you can do some other things like get relaxed by closing your eyes for sometime and meditate or listen to some soft music which will help you get relax and can give you osund sleep.

Thanks
