Hi im 20 years old and this is my first ever post.
Ive always had trouble sleeping. I find it hard to shut down my mind because my head is always full of random thoughts and emotions. I find i can't channel and control my thoughts, meaning I find it extremely hard to concentrate on my studies and as a result, my grades to tend to suffer. It's 4.39 am in my country and im still awake!
The funny thing is, reading or watching tv always help me sleep. i find it is because doing so helps me focus on one particular thing and not on a mixture of thought and emotion ... however the second i put down my book or turn off the tv .. im wide awake again!
could it be because i worry too much? (my hair-line is suffering because of that?)
are there any excercises i can to to chill out, rest my mind, and shut down?
thanks,
matt

Hi matt,
What exactly are you worrying about?; and what sdo you be doing the moment before going to bed? Worrying causes our bodies to produce adrenaline which would certainly keep you awake. I have noticed that drinking herbal tea just before bed helps me to sleep. If I don't drink it, I feel a bit hyperactive like you do. You could also try eating a small snack, as food nturally makes us feel tired.
